’22 HOWELL REBEL RB, CONNER GORDON, PUTS SPEED ON DISPLAY
Conner Gordon is a 2022 Running Back playing for the Howell Rebels out of Farmingdale, NJ. While he’s just under 170 lbs and squats 405 lbs right now, he’s projected to reach 185 - 190 lbs and squat in the mid-400s by the time he starts college.
His speed, however, is key and Gordon showed a glimpse of just how fast he can be at last season’s Howell vs Freehold Borough game.
“Freehold had probably the fastest team in the conference and when Howell fell behind, Gordon got his chance to put his jets on display," said GoMVB Coach Pat Marzo. "It was really impressive to watch."
The result was an outside run that showed Gordon race outside the defenders and fly up the sideline with a quick 22-yard score.
“He’s currently running a 40 in the 4.5s. With some drill specific training combined with his natural speed, we expect that number to improve dramatically by the time he’s ready to play at the next level,” added Marzo. “This athlete can run and has big play capability.”
Conner’s first game is Thursday, September 2nd at home vs Brick Memorial.
