'23 NJ QB Schwartz Puts Up Record Breaking Year - Helps Team Achieve Best Season in Two Decades
MARLBORO, NJ - High School Junior A.J. Schwartz, used his legs, arm and brain to propel Marlboro to a seven-win season. The Marlboro Mustangs averaged 23 points per game and have a brand new and exciting look under Schwartz and Co.
A.J., first and foremost, is a 4.3 plus GPA, honor roll student. The two-sport athlete (basketball) was a multi-purpose threat for his football coach, Jason Dagato. Schwartz not only set a school record for TD passes with 14, but he also ran for over 500 yards and scored 5tds on the ground. A.J. completed over 60 percent of his passes and for good measure was a ball hawk and hard-hitting safety on defense.
“A.J. can certainly play quarterback at the next level," said Pat Marzo, GoMVB Analyst. "He's a dual threat QB, who throws well on the run and is hard to pin down. Due to his athleticism, I can also see him playing defensive back at the college level. He’s fast, can cover and has a great knack for the ball. In short, he’s a playmaker and college recruits want playmakers."
As stated earlier, A.J.’s grades are terrific.
"In today’s recruiting game, it matters more than ever," added Marzo. "Not only do grades make a player an easy sell to a school’s administration but a coach also knows he’s getting a worker, a responsible and diligent athlete."
Schwartz was named Shore Conference player of the Week. He's also on the All-Division team and we assume this team captain will be on every N.J. watch list prior to his senior year.
