Rising Junior OT Yassin Hassanein Ready To Help Marlboro Take The Next Step
Marlboro, NJ: Last year was one of near misses for the Marlboro High School football team.
The Mustangs went 7-3 in 2021, but missed out on the sectional playoffs and finished second in the Shore Conference Liberty Division by a single game to Central Regional.
Class of 2024 left tackle Yassin Hassanein wants to help make sure that Marlboro ends 2022 with something to show for all the hard work his team has put in during the offseason.
Hassanein is going to be one of a large group of returning talent, and the Mustangs are going to need it: they have moved to the Constitution Division and will have a brutal schedule this fall.
But that is what these players want: challenging games, to showcase how much they have grown since that impressive campaign last year. Hassenein will be a key, blocking the blind side and knocking over defensive players in the running game.
In the classroom, Hassenein has been just as much of a star as on the field. He had a 3.7 GPA before his grades settled at the end of his sophomore academic year, and he is working hard to get that up above a 4.0.
Here is a scouting report on the rising junior:
“He is going to have to get bigger to keep playing at left tackle, but he has worked hard in the weightroom to add size and strength to his frame. He is young: remember, he is just 15-years-old, so he is still growing. He is one of those kids that you might not think about when he is running out of the tunnel, but when you watch the tape of the game, Hassanein is always making plays. I love guys like that. He plays with an attitude, but then you talk to him off the field, and he is a great kid, and very smart. I know the Marlboro coaching staff loves him.”
