Princeton, NJ: When you play in the Hun School football program, it is not always about the games.

Of course, games matter: why else would we play? But often, the Raiders’ practices and offense v. defense scrimmages are higher level than the weekend contests.

That is what happens when you have a roster full of high D1 student-athletes.

For young players in the program–freshman and sophomores–that is experience that can only drive you to become better on and off the field.

Dillon Bucchere is one of those student-athletes: the 5-11, 195-pound Class of 2024 wide receiver and safety has a whole roster of players in the classes above him that show him the right way to work on the practice field, in the games, in the weight room, and in the classroom.

Bucchere has already posted a very good sophomore season, with 39 tackles at the safety position for the 9-0 Raiders, but it is all of the above that will drive him to become a player that coaches on the next level will love.

Here is a quick scouting report on Bucchere from a coach:

“The first thing you can see is that he is already starting to fill into his frame, which is something a few years in the Hun weight program will facilitate. Bucchere is quick, and will get quicker: strong, and will get stronger.

“I think the main thing to see over the next couple years is how he will improve working with and against Marco Lainez, who has already committed to Iowa, and playing against some of the other talent on the Hun roster. I can’t say this enough: if you are always surrounded by class, you are going to get better. Bucchere is going to get better and better in the next couple years, and I expect him to make a very big jump over the next six months and into his junior year.”

Bucchere is also a star in the classroom, in the rigorous Hun School program. He has a 4.0 GPA, which is only expected to rise in the coming academic years.

By the time he is ready to graduate, after years in the weight program and working with a Power Five QB and against D1 players on both sides of the ball, Bucchere is going to be a big-time prospect.
