NJ Manalapan Lacrosse Class of 2023 FO/MF Luke Mann Heads into Off-Season Ready to Lead Next Spring
Manalapan, NJ: The Manalapan boys' lacrosse team did not have the best end to the 2022 NJSIAA season.
Six losses on the bounce saw the Braves knocked out of the Shore Conference and South Jersey Group 4 tournaments in the first round, ending a disappointing campaign at 7-9.
But tough times like those make stronger players, and Class of 2023 face-off/midfielder Luke Mann will use the end of the season struggles to work even harder in the off-season.
Mann had three goals and three assists for Manalapan, won 53 percent of his face-offs when given a chance, and will assume a much larger role in the offense next spring. In the meantime, he will play for Team 91 to hone his skills even more.
Mann is also working hard in the off-season strength and conditioning program, which has already started following the Braves' exit from the state tournament. Mann has a 3.0 GPA in the classroom, which should rise in the coming weeks as his junior grades are tabulated.
Here is a scouting report on the midfielder:
"He is always around the play if that makes sense. Mann puts himself in good spots on the field to help break up the play and start the counterattack. When he lines up to take face-offs, he wins more than he loses, and he will get a chance to take more of them in 2023.
"I know it was not a good end of the season for the team, but you sometimes see what players are made of when things like that happen. I expect Mann to thrive from that adversity and come back next spring and post some big numbers for Manalapan."
