'22 TWO WAY STAR, OLD BRIDGE NJ KNIGHTS DB/SLOT, JAKE MCALEAVEY, IS HAVING ANOTHER MONSTER SEASON
OLD BRIDGE, NJ – Jake McAleavey (All Conference, All County, All Area, All Star) is an electrifying and athletic safety/wide receiver for the Old Bridge Knights. The 6’0” - 190lb senior plays for coach Anthony Lanzafama.
McAleavey burned through, over and around the competition as a junior. Last season, in just six games, Jake caught 16 passes for 426 yards (including 4 TDs and 6 - 2 pt. conversions). On defense, aside from McAleavey's blistering hard hits from safety, he intercepted 3 passes and deflected 11 more. This season, Jake has a 98 yard kick return TD alongside his usual exceptional play at safety. In four games, McAleavey has 24 catches for 390 yards and 4 TDs.
Jake was a Max Preps Player of the Game 2x in 2020 and this season he is on NJ.COM’s 2021 Top 10 WR/TE watchlist - and is headed for many post season honors. Jake is up for the Middlesex County Player of the Week for his performance (against Monroe) on Oct 1st: 7 catches 151 yards and 2 touchdowns. The only confusion about McAleavey when it comes to football is which side of the ball is he better on.
“Jake runs a verified 4.6s 40, but it looks to me now like he is in the 4.5s." said Pat Marzo, GoMVB Analyst. "He is also one of those players that has tremendous field speed aside from what the laser reads. He plays hard, fast and is dynamic on offense as his 25 plus yards per catch last season showed us. This season. the kid has not missed a beat. He is a big time weapon and game changer. Jake also looks so natural at safety. He's a hard hitter, sure tackler and uses his receiver skills when that ball is in the air. When it is - it's caught by him or heavily contested. 'Mac' is a player at the next level, period.”
