Class of 2027 RB Michael "Big 13" Martin II is Ready to Burst Onto National Scene with Hillcrest
Simpsonville, SC: Michael “Big 13” Martin II is just 13-years-old, and he already has an honors list that would make Derrick Henry blush.
Martin II, who is a two-sport star (football and track) with the Hillcrest Rams in Simpsonville South Carolina, has earned this list of awards already:
Hillcrest Offensive MVP
UA Next All-American
Football Hotbed All American RB
Crucible Select Camp 2X RB MVP
Future Stars Team South Carolina
Carolina Bowl All State RB - 3X
Carolina Bowl All-Academic Team 3X
As you will notice, he is not just a star on the field, but in the classroom as well, where he has a 4.0 GPA. On the field, you can see the impressive list of honors. Martin II is as good of a player in South Carolina as there is, and you know that state produces stars.
Martin II is 5-6, 125 pounds now, and is already working as hard in the weight room and with speed training as he does on the field and in the classroom: the kid is a winner, plain and simple. With his honors, he is going to be getting a lot of looks already, and Martin II is ready for them.
Here is a scouting report on the star running back:
“The first thing you notice about Martin II is that he runs North-South, and that he hits the hole very quickly. I can’t say enough about that: he has the speed and agility to make defensive players miss, so he could get caught up running East-West, but he doesn’t. So now, when he makes that linebacker miss, it is five, seven, 10 yards down the field, and he is off to the races, or breaking a 20-yard run. That is so key for running backs, and Martin II does it excellently.
“You can tell by the list of honors that he is going to be very good, but he is also such a humble kid, and is very smart in the classroom. I think that speaks volumes: when you have a kid that good, that works so hard in his studies, and in the weight room, it shows that he is willing to put the work in to get better. I am very excited to see what he can do this fall.”
