NJ ’24 EAST BRUNSWICK BEARS, WR/OLB, RYAN BENNET IS A FORCE ON BOTH OFFENSE AND DEFENSE
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – Class of 2024, Ryan Bennett is one of those special, long athletic players that can play nearly any position on the football field. Bennett will burst onto the varsity scene this Fall after being named the top freshmen in his class. Just under 6’0” tall at 15 years old, Bennett is a dominant player from both the OLB and WR position.
“On the defensive side of the ball Ryan is a shut down OLB,” said GoMVB Coach Pat Marzo. “He’s able to take on blockers, shed them with ease and pursue the ball carrier. He runs through his tackles and wraps the ball carrier up very well. His natural instincts allow him to take proper angles needed to make tackles for a loss.”
On the offensive side of the ball Ryan is a dominant WR. Coach Marzo had this to say, “Bennett’s speed and again, length, also make him a threat as a receiver offensively. He’s able to easily escape a defenders’ press and has an excellent niche for finding the hole in the defense. This is a skill that is usually developed in later years and it is awesome that we see Ryan being able to do this now.”
Last but not least, Ryan has excellent hands. If ever a jump ball, you can most definitely count on him to bring it in. He’s also a dual sport threat as a member of the baseball team.
This off-season Ryan has matured and worked on his craft. He has spent many hours in the weight room and on the field transforming his body. As only a rising sophomore, we expect Ryan to be a force to be reckoned with on the varsity field this year.
