WOODBRIDGE NJ '22 DEFENSIVE TACKLE, AMMAR DRYE, POISED TO DOMINATE THE TRENCHES
WOODBRIDGE, NJ – New Jersey has had their share of dominant lineman excel in college. Ammar Drye (2022) is ready to add his name to that impressive list. Drye is 6’3” and already 245 lbs. He plays for Woodbridge HS under coach, Joe LaSala.
Ammar benches 225 lbs for 10 reps and squats 485 lbs. The best part of Ammar, however is his side to side agility and burst off the line. The combination of early strength and mobility on this young athlete gives opponent’s severe issues to handle.
Drye has recorded a 4.9s 40 and chases down quarterbacks and ball carriers mercilessly. He also shuts down one side of the run game for opposing coaches.
“He's got a tremendous upside with 245 lbs on a 6’3” frame," said GoMVB Coach Pat Marzo. "That frame will allow him to add another 40 lbs when getting tutored by a college strength coach. His speed is extraordinary for a defensive lineman and his quickness is even more impressive. This is a kid who should be getting some serious looks."
