NJ Football Hun School Star OT Logan Howland Commits to Oklahoma

Princeton, NJ: Once again, lineman prep has come through for another player.

Logan Howland, a rising senior offensive tackle in the vaunted Hun School program under Head Coach (and lineman guru) Todd Smith, has chosen the University of Oklahoma to continue his academic and athletic career after his senior year.

The three-star player helped the Raiders to an unbeaten 9-0 campaign in 2021, and the number one overall national ranking for prep schools, which is where Hun will start the 2022 season as well.

Smith has assembled a squad full of Power 5 and Division 1 talent, most notably in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Howland is going to be pivotal to both the offense– as a blocker for University of Iowa commit QB Marco Lainez–and as part of a star-studded defensive front seven.

Howland had more than 20 D1 offers, and ultimately chose to play for the Sooners.

Here is a scouting report on the player:

“Howland’s raw power can be seen on his very first clip of his highlight reel. Hands out in front, he grabs an out route and proceeds to run over a would-be tackler attempting to stop him from the end zone. Now, he has made the move to offensive tackle with all that athletic ability, and he is going to be able to dominate there as well. I can’t stress to you just how athletic you have to be to do that. He is a freak athlete: just so strong, fast, and quick.

“The Hun School is loaded with talent and sends players to D1 schools with each graduating class. Howland is the next one to sign, and he is going to be a tremendous asset to Oklahoma.”
